Armenia ratifies EAEU’s free-trade zone deal with Iran

YEREVAN, Mar 27 (PRIME) -- The parliament of Armenia on Wednesday ratified a temporary agreement on establishment of a free-trade zone between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan besides Armenia.

During a meeting of the parliament, Deputy Economic Development and Investments Minister Albert Babayan said that the agreement would raise exports of Armenian goods to Iran. “Armenia could also become a transit country for exports of Iranian products to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said.
